Bonita Nelson, 60, died on Monday, October 11, 2010 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, October 15, 2010 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. George Davis officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM Thursday.

Bonita Jeanette Albrecht was born on November 7, 1949 at Bismarck, ND to Edward and Alma (Balliet) Albrecht. She was baptized in the Lutheran Faith. She attended school in Linton, ND graduating in 1967.

She was united in marriage to William George Nelson on August 1, 1969. They lived in several places throughout their married life including Sterling, ND, Grand Forks, ND, Bismarck, ND, Billings, MT and then to Thief River Falls in 1983. Bonita was a stay at home mom all of the time her children were young. She worked on the assembly line at Arctic Cat for 10 years.

Bonita was an avid Bingo player. If she could have played Bingo every night, she would have. She collected Betty Boop memorabilia and cows. Her grandkids were first and foremost in her life. She enjoyed helping raise them and spending time with them. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary. She also liked garage sales and the hunt for a bargain.

She is survived by her husband William, Thief River Falls, MN; 5 children: William Jr. (special friend Lindsay Hardy) Nelson, Thief River Falls, MN, Brandy Nelson, Thief River Falls, MN, Beth Anne (Randall) Johnson, Moorhead, MN, Bambi (special friend Eric Myhre) Nelson, Thief River Falls, MN, Brock (Amanda) Nelson, Mandan, ND, six grandchildren: Amber Counter, Meghan Johnson, Bradley Nelson, Amanda Johnson, Kadin Myhre, Sydney Nelson, one sister Rosina (Richard Sr.) Bechhold, East Grand Forks, MN, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Bradley and Brian Nelson, parents, infant brother.
