Obituary

Bonnie Helen Saunders was born November 9, 1909 in Duluth, MN, the daughter of Moses Pendleton and Helen (Foster) Saunders. She was baptized and confirmed as a young adult at Ekelund Lutheran Church. She grew up and attended school in Pennington and Duluth, MN.

On January 19, 1927, Bonnie was united in marriage to Enoch Johnsrud at Duluth, MN. The couple lived in Duluth and in 1930, moved to the farm in Star Township, MN, where she lived on the farm until moving into Thief River Falls, MN in 1995. Bonnie milked cows until she was 71 years old. She also worked at Mandts Hatchery, Oklee and Goodridge Schools, Goodridge Caf and the turkey plant in Thief River Falls. Bonnie wrote the Star News.

She was a member of the Ladies Aid, taught Bible School and was a Sunday School teacher. She liked to travel, visit, quilt, embroider, sew, garden, play games and cards. She most especially liked being with family during Christmas, weddings, birthdays and other holidays.

Survived by daughters-in-law; Deloris Johnsrud and Shirley Johnsrud, both Goodridge, MN; 7 grandchildren, Sherry (Herb) King, Bothell, WA, Roger (Denise) Johnsrud, St. Hilaire, MN, Candyce (Tim) Lundeen, Lancaster, MN, Susie Hager, Middle River, MN, Gary Johnsrud, St. Hilaire, MN, Gwen (Patrick) Hoffmann, Lake of the Hills, IL and Kristi Johnsrud, Rolla, ND; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter, Isabella; a brother, Melvin Greer, Columbus, OH and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by husband, Enoch on May 5,1980; 2 sons, Jack and Clifford; Great granddaughter, Ariel; parents; sisters, Mabel and Carol; brothers, Harvey, Vernon, Donald and James.
