Brett Poole, 48, of Thief River Falls, MN died on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND surrounded by his loving family. Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Brett Poole will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Saint Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Burial will be held at Lone Oak Cemetery in Fourtown, MN. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Sunday at the church. Brett Alan Poole was born on May 14, 1964 the son of Munro and Jone (Vogen) Poole. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. Brett attended Knox Elementary, Franklin Middle School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1982. He worked as an orderly at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls during and following his high school years. Brett moved to Minneapolis where he attended vocational school for photography. While living in Minneapolis he lived with his grandfather, Richard Vogen and helped to care for him. Brett worked at St. Mary's Hospital as an orderly and also helped take care of hospice patients. He eventually moved into sterile processing at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN. Brett later went to work at Sterilmed in Maple Grove, MN where he held a variety of positions. On January 13, 1996, Brett was united in marriage to Mary Moeller and to this union two children were born, Cody and Danielle. In 2011, Brett came home to live in Thief River Falls where he helped to take care of Mom and Dad. Brett was good with computers, enjoyed NASCAR, photography, especially photography of animals and birds, geocaching, and had a passion for hunting. He spent countless hours hunting with his family and friends. He was a down to earth man with a heart of gold, and has helped a lot of people in many different ways. Brett was always good to help out his family and friends. Survivors include his children, Cody and Danielle of Rosemount, MN; parents, Munro and Jone Poole of Thief River Falls, MN; sister, Dena (Kevin) Klockman of Ogallala, NE; brothers, Jeff Poole of Mentor, MN and James Poole of Thief River Falls, MN; nieces and nephews, Shane & Darian Klockman, Landen Spiering, Alex & Max Poole, Andy & Benjamin Poole; special friend, Lisa Poole; and many other relatives and friends.
