Obituary

Bruce Carl Cross, 86, passed away peacefully at home on July 16, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Bruce was born on July 9, 1940, in Wayzata, Minnesota, to Chester Gerald Cross and Jessie Irene (Van Divier) Cross. He was raised with strong values of faith, hard work, and devotion to family that guided him throughout his life.

Bruce attended College View Academy and later Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. While in Lincoln, he met his future wife, Eleanor Anderson. They were united in marriage on August 23, 1964, and shared more than 61 years of love, partnership, and cherished memories. Together they raised their two children, Michael Cross and Tara Cross, and built a home filled with love, faith, and lasting memories. He took great pride in his family and treasured the time spent together throughout the years.

Throughout his working years, Bruce was employed as a Braille Pressman at Christian Record Braille Foundation in Lincoln, NE, and later spent many years as an over-the-road truck driver. He took pride in his work and was known for his dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic.

Bruce found great enjoyment in his hobbies, especially model trains and traveling. Whether working on his train layouts or exploring new places with family, he found joy in life's journeys, both near and far.

Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Eleanor Cross; his son, Michael Cross (Richelle); his daughter, Tara Cross; and his brother, Steven Cross (Gloria). He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss his steady presence, kind heart, and quiet strength.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Gerald Cross and Jessie Irene Van Divier Cross.

Bruce's life was marked by devotion to his family, a commitment to hard work, and an appreciation for the simple pleasures of life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
