Calvin "Cal" Offerdahl, Thief River Falls, MN, age 79, died Monday, December 25, 2017 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

Memorial service will be Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend John Golv Officiating.

Visitation will be held on Friday 5 – 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Calvin "Cal" Offerdahl was born February 13, 1938 in Newfolden, MN son of George and Gladys (Bottem) Offerdahl. He was raised in Thief River Falls where he attended Lincoln High School.

On June 13, 1959, Cal was united in marriage to Ardelle Elaine Olson at Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN.  Together they made their home in Thief River Falls and to this union two children were born: Cari and Cory. Cal was employed at Bridgeman Creamery for 41 years retiring in 2000.

He played Hockey for the Thief River Thieves. He coached many different youth levels for TRFAHA. Cal enjoyed deer hunting, spending time outdoors, the time spent at the lake cabin, and was always tinkering and fixing things.

Cal is survived by his children: Cari Lain (Randy) Naeseth, Valley City, ND and son Cory Allen (Tina) Offerdahl, Bemidji, MN; grandchildren: Brandon and Colin Naeseth and Taylor and Tatum Offerdahl; siblings Del (JoAnn) Offerdahl of Thief River Falls, MN, Dorothy Hoganson of Thief River Falls, MN, Judy (Jerry) Juhl of Freemont, CA and Diane (John) Johnson of Thief River Falls, MN along with several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by wife Ardelle on January 5, 2007, his parents George and Gladys Offerdahl and sister, Sharon (Charles) Field.
