Camilla Joan Newman

Camilla Joan Newman, 82, of Thief River Falls, Minnesota, passed away on April 9, 2026, in Fargo, North Dakota.

Camilla was born on July 31, 1943, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, to Ludvig Wejmer and Charlotte Emma (Loen) Newman. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. She attended Strandquist High School and later pursued college studies in Bemidji and Mayville.

Throughout her life, Camilla was a dedicated and hardworking woman. She worked for 27 years with Harvest Grain Associates as a data entry employee, in Roseville, Minnesota, and later spent 11 years working at Polaris.

Camilla cherished time spent with her family and found joy in crossword puzzles, dancing, reading her Bible. She held strong faith and found comfort in music.

She is survived by her sister Arlene Newman; niece Charlotte Sears both of Thief River Falls; great nieces and great nephews: Michael Newman (Kyleen), Camilla Glass (Wade), Justin Diaz, Lorenzo Newman, Isaiah Newman, Hunter Beaulieu, Tanya Castellano (Christian), Caitlin Sears, Emma Hodge; and great-great nieces & nephews who were dear to her heart, Frances, Rory, Alaina, Anthony, Giovanni, and Mikhailo; and many other relatives and friends.

Camilla was preceded in death by her parents, Wejmer and Charlotte Newman; her grandmother Johanna Loen; and her great-nephew Ethan Sears.

Pallbearers will be Michael Newman, Lorenzo Newman, Isaiah Newman, Wade Glass, and Hunter Beaulieu.

The funeral service to celebrate Camilla’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 1, 2026 with visitation one hour prior to the service at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow the service. Burial will take place at Huntly Cemetery.

Camilla will be remembered for her quiet strength, her devotion to family, and her enduring faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
