Camille DuChamp passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014 in New Hope, MN at the St. Therese Home of New Hope. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 25, 2014 at United Methodist Church, Thief River Falls, MN, with Rev. Jeff Gustafson officiating. Burial will take place on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 10:00 am, Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to her funeral service at the church on Monday. Camille Helen Joy Narverud DuChamp - born April 20, 1928 - Died August 19, 2014, Age 86. Camille was born in Alexandria, MN, to Emma C. and John A. Narverud. She was raised and spent most of her life in Thief River Falls. Thief River was home. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946 and from Moorhead State Teacher's College in 1950. On June 20, 1954 she married Robert DuChamp in Thief River Falls. She taught in Glenwood MN and later subbed in TRF. She always wanted to be a nurse, so in the mid 1970's worked to receive her LPN licensure and worked for 20 years at Northwestern Hospital in TRF. She loved direct patient care and was diligent in her nursing practice. An active member of the United Methodist Church, the Audubon Society, Eastern Star, and Homemakers, Camille never lacked for things to do and people to see. An avid traveler, she traveled to Canada, Hawaii, Alaska, Florida, Norway, Denmark, and greatly enjoyed a Caribbean cruise. Camille also enjoyed birding, playing cards, gardening, and crafts -- attending Craft Camp each year in Bemidji. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Nicholas in 1962, son Jon Earl, and brother, Donovan Narverud. Camille is survived by son Jay Kent, daughter Bobbie (Allen) Guidry, grandchildren Jesse, Tony, Matthew, Melinda and Corrin, great granddaughter Tiana; brother, Arnold (Gladys) Narverud; sisters-in-law, Carol Narverud and Bunny DuChamp; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
