Carl Rue, 91, died Monday, November 28, 2005 at CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Monday, December 5, 2005 at Grace Lutheran Church, Grygla, MN with Reverend Joseph Abrahamson officiating. Burial will be at St. Petri Cemetery near Grygla, MN.

Visitation will be 2 " 5 PM, Sunday, December 4, 2005 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN, with a 5 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to service at the church, Monday.

Carl Rue was born July 22, 1914 at Grygla, MN, the son of Simon T. and Clara (Thorsen) Rue. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. He attended country school.

On December 6, 1948, Carl was united in marriage to Hilda (Trontwedt) Holton at the Mavie, MN parsonage. He farmed with brother, Ernest on the family farm and also worked in the woods and was a great woodsman.

Carl was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church, rural Grygla, MN. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, auction sales, antique tractors and working with old gasoline engines.

Carl is survived by wife, Hilda, Thief River Falls, MN; step-son, Bruce (Carol) Holton, Joplin, MO and step-daughter, Jo Ann (Gary) Waterman, Santa de Lewis, Mexico; 7 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great grandchildren; sister, Cora Rue, Grygla, MN; brother, Ernest Rue, Grygla, MN; sister-in-law, Evelyn Rue, Hillsboro, ND; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, sister, Selma Rue and brother Helmer Rue.
