Carlos Lazo, age 59, of Red Lake Falls, MN, died Monday, July 31, 2017 at his home in Red Lake Falls, MN surrounded by his loving family.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Bob Schreiner Officiating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery near Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 5 – 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Carlos Alberto Lazo was born July 15, 1958, at Yayantique La Union, El Salvador, the son of Excelsio Cabrera and Francisca Lazo.  He was baptized and confirmed in El Salvador and was educated there as well.

On February 3, 1976, Carlos was united in marriage to Maria Elena Lazo.

He was self-employed as a welder and his last job was with Arctic Cat, Thief River Falls, where he worked on the assembly line for 5 years.

Carlos enjoyed playing Chess, fishing, listening to music and catching a good action movie.  He also liked playing billiard's with friends.

He is survived by his wife Maria Elena Lazo; children: Deysi E. Lucio, and Wendy (Jose Manuel) Liliana Zenteno; 6 grandchildren: Wendy Elizabeth Zenteno, Isaiah Alberto Zenteno, Abraham Manuel Zenteno, Anthony Emmanuel Lucio, Evelyn Karla Lucio and Liliana Isabel Lucio; mother Francisca Lazo; step-father Juaquin Zepeda; brothers and sisters: Oscar Zepeda, Rene Zepeda, Orlando Zepeda, Edwin Zepeda, Rosa Elena Rivera and Victoria Del Carmen de Rivera.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Yesica Del Carmen, a son, Carlos Emmanuel Lazo and birthfather Excelsio Cabrera.
