Carol B. Anderson, 81, died on Saturday, April 7, 2007 surrounded by her loving family under the care of Hospice at her daughters home near Crookston, MN.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge, MN with Reverend Robert Dahlen officiating. Burial will be Goodridge Cemetery, Goodridge, MN.
Visitation will be from 5-8, Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Carol Bernice Jones was born on February 1, 1926, the daughter of George and Bertha (Teagarden) Jones in Glen Flora, WI. She graduated from Goodridge High School.
She was united in marriage to Alvin South in 1947. He died in 1948. She was united in marriage to Roy William Anderson on November 18, 1950 in Milwaukee, WI.
Carol worked in a meat packing plant in Waterloo, IA; did bookkeeping in Kansas and Minnesota. She worked as a secretary in the transportation corps, war department, in the Pentagon Building in Washington D.C. She worked as a bookkeeper for Saurdiff Trucking in Grygla, MN. For the most of her life, Carol was a farmers wife. She helped on the family farm and raised 7 children.
Carol enjoyed quilting and fishing. She also liked typing, photography, putting puzzles together, ceramics, and blueberry picking. She served as the secretary of the Marshall County Farmers Union Board for 15 years. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and enjoyed the time she got to spend with them.
Carol is survived by seven children: Eileen (Jim) Smeby of Fertile, MN, Ida (David) Hoppe of Crookston, MN, Bruce (special friend, Desiree Konickson) Anderson of Goodridge, MN, Susan (Steve) Saurdiff of Grygla, MN, Dale (Patty) Anderson of Goodridge, MN, Jane Manzey of Delano, MN and Bernice (Scott Midstokke) Anderson of Michigan, ND; 21 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Harland (Marie) Jones of Rogers, AR; Clair (Allena) Jones of Boerne, TX, 2 sisters: Gail Brunston of San Diego, CA; Wanda (Reed) Weinberg of Clarksville, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alvin South, husband Roy Anderson on August 1, 2006, her parents, sisters Edythe Jones, Doris Field, Lois Swanson, Lucille Griebel, Audrey Nolting, brothers Clark Jones, and Arthur Jones, and granddaughter, Amy Schroeder.
