Carol Haugen, 72, of Oklee, MN passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN with her loving family at her side.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, with Father Adam Hamness Presiding. Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Oklee. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Carol was born on April 16th, 1945 to Andrew and Alexina Dessellier of Oklee, MN. She grew up and attended school in Oklee.

Carol moved back to Oklee in the mid 80's where she met Clayton Haugen whom she later married. They were married for 28 years. Carol was happiest when cooking and baking at the café in Oklee. She also was an avid sewer. She made things from clothing to quilts. She was loved by all and was very friendly and easy going. Carol is not someone we will forget soon. One of her favorite things was to watch her grandchildren in their sports and school activities, the little things always brought a smile to her face.

Carol was also married to Clayton Smith, and Orlin Westlund, both of whom have passed before her.

She is the mother of 6 children. Jackie Dessellier, Dan Smith, Lloyd Smith, Rodney "Bucky" Smith, Tracy Smith, and Steven Westlund. She also has 10 grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by 2 of her children, Lloyd and Dan, and her husband Clayton Haugen.
