Obituary

Carol Neys, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Memorial mass will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, MN with Father Bill DeCrans Officiating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Brooks. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Carol Lois Neys was born February 1, 1958 at Crookston, MN daughter of Joseph and Lauria (Desautel) Neys. She was raised in the Erskine area where she attended school graduating in 1976. Carol attended NDSU where she received a teaching degree.

Carol taught at St. Bernard's Catholic School in Thief River Falls for 10 years. She then went to work for American Crystal Sugar in Crookston where she was employed for 16 years.

Carol met and has had a special friend Jeff Klaven for 30 years. They lived north of Thief River Falls, on a farm East of Brooks for 19 years, and currently living in Crookston, MN the past 7 years.

She enjoyed flea markets, attending antique shows in Minot, ND, reading books, helping on the farm especially attending to the farm animals.

Carol is survived by Jeff Klaven of Crookston, siblings George (Marlene) Neys of Warren, MN, Anna (Gary) Davis of Golden, CO, Mary (Harry) Larson of Hibbing, MN, Bonita (Jerry) Shaver of McIntosh, MN, brother-in-law Father Bill DeCrans of Ada, MN, along with many nieces and nephews. Jeff's Grandmother Clara Reierson of Erskine, MN.

She is preceded in death by parents Joseph and Lauria Neys, sister Kathryn DeCrans, niece Helen DeCrans. Jeff's parents Clayton and Carol Klaven.
