Carolyn Halvorson, 79, of Thief River Falls, MN passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Service of the Word will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 15, 2023, with visitation one hour prior to the service, at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls with Father Craig Vasek presiding. Burial will be held at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Carolyn Mary Wiener was born June 6, 1944, in Thief River Falls, MN the daughter of Joseph and Florence (Fontaine) Wiener.

She attended school in Thief River Falls graduating from Lincoln High School with the class of 1962. Carolyn then attended and graduated from the Area Vocational Technical School in Thief River Falls in the Practical Nursing Department.

Carolyn was united in marriage to Orville Olson, and he passed away as a young man from cancer.

On April 14, 1973, Carolyn was united in marriage to Jeffrey Svoboda and to this union two daughters were born, Karen and Nikki. Jeffrey passed away as a young man following an accident.

In September of 1976, Carolyn was united in marriage to Morris Halvorson and to this union two children were born, Eric and Anne.

Carolyn worked as an LPN and worked at home doing daycare for 30+ years. Her years in daycare created many long-lasting friendships with many different families in the community.

Flowers, gardening and tending to her beautiful yard every summer was a passion for Carolyn. She enjoyed sitting on the swing, watching, and feeding the bunnies and squirrels. She also enjoyed attending craft shows and doing crafts at home. Carolyn loved spending time with her family and hosting family gatherings. She had a big heart and was always there for everyone. Her house was a comfortable and safe place for everyone.

Survivors include her loving children, Karen (Adam Johnson) Wengeler, Nikki (Joseph) Peters, Eric Halvorson and Anne (Rafael) Fuentes; grandchildren, Logan, Mason, Nolan, Olivia, Brynlee, Jenna, Halle, Jett, Skye, Annyssa, Shayla; great granddaughter, Opal; sisters, Mary Beich and Michelle (Mike) Geske all of Thief River Falls, MN; brother, Joel  (Mary) Wiener of Willmar, MN; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Orville, Jeffrey, and Morris; granddaughter, Maizy Fuentes; parents; nephews, Todd Svoboda, Jeremy Lundgren; great nephew, Jesse Baker, Matthew Carlson; great niece, Ciara Flynn; and pets, Brittney & Boots.
