Carolyn Lee Myhre, 71, of Brooks, MN died on Friday, December 13, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 10:30 AM in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Plummer, MN with Reverend Jonathan Dodson Officiating. Burial will be held at the Emardville Cemetery at Plummer, MN. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, 5 - 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer and also one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Carolyn Lee Myhre was born June 16, 1942 at Crookston, MN daughter of the late Alfred and Rose (Thoreson) Waldal. She was raised at Plummer and graduated from Pershing High in 1960. She attended the AVTI in Thief River Falls graduating with a degree in bookkeeping. On June 22, 1963 she was united in marriage to Wesley Myhre at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer, MN. The couple lived in Brooks for 3 years then moved to Aurora, MN for 2 ½ years, then returned to Brooks where they purchased a home south of town where they have since lived. Carolyn worked for the Red Lake County State Bank in Red Lake Falls from 1961 until 1966, then the spring of 1968 she began work at the Red Lake County Co-op in Brooks where she was bookkeeper and office manager until her retirement in 2004. Carolyn enjoyed card making, quilting, knitting and her flower garden. She loved the time spent on her annual sister gatherings for the past 19 years. She was a member of the American Cancer Society, WELCA, Credit Union board member and was an election judge. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Wesley Myhre of Brooks, MN daughters Robin (Jim) Deakins of Kansasville, WI and Wendy (David) Jondahl of Fargo, ND: grandchildren Kelsey (Ron) Domke of Racine, WI, Bryant Deakins of Raleigh, NC, Alyssa Jondahl of Fargo, ND and Anna Jondahl of Fargo, ND. Sisters Marie Seeger of Red Lake Falls, MN, Rosella McDonald of Portage, IN and Helen (Wayne) Ober of Flat Rock, MI and brother-in-law Clayton Larson of Plummer, MN, along with several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Beatrice Larson, James Waldal, Alvin Waldal, Lawrence Waldal, Selma Waldal, Clara Auch and brothers-in-law Wally Seeger and Kenneth McDonald, a niece, nephew and great-nephews.
