Catherine Katie Rose Anderson, 93, of Thief River Falls, MN died peacefully at Oakland Park Communities on Monday, September 20, 2010.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 25, 2010 with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Burial will follow at St. Bernards Catholic Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service on Saturday.

Catherine Katie (Langevin) Anderson was born February 21, 1917 in Thief River Falls, MN the daughter of Edward and Mary (Thieverge) Langevin. She was baptized at St. Bernards Catholic Church as a baby, confirmed there as a young adult and also attended St. Bernards School. Katie went on to graduate from Lincoln High School in 1935.

In 1938 Katie and Harold H. Anderson were united in marriage. Together, they made their home and raised their family in Thief River Falls.

Katie worked at S & L for several years, which later became Bostwicks. She retired from there in the late 1970s.

Katie enjoyed spending time with her family, they were her priority. She will be remembered as a great confidant and listener. Some of her favorite pastimes include working in her flower beds, playing bingo, listening to music, cooking, making meat pies and taking care of her family. She was very active with the guild at St. Bernards Catholic Church. Katie was a charter member of the ladies VFW Auxiliary and the Cooties where she volunteered at the hospital. Katie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Survivors include her children, Roger (Palma) Anderson of Thief River Falls, MN, Robert Anderson of Thief River Falls, MN, Bruce (Kris) Anderson of Minneapolis, MN, Kathy (Rod) Rein of Wausau, WI and Scott Anderson of Wausau, WI; grandchildren, Murray (Jane) Anderson of Thief River Falls, MN, Heidi (Mike) Skjerven of Thief River Falls, MN, Colette (Brian) Voecks of Thief River Falls, MN, Georgette (Darren) Philipp of Thief River Falls, MN, Robert (Lorna) Anderson of London, England, Derrick (Regan) Anderson of Moore, OK, Heather (Rich) Parker of Seattle, WA, Matthew (Dawnyell) Anderson of New Castle, WY, Melissa Anderson of Minneapolis, MN, Elizabeth Anderson of Minneapolis, MN, Erica (Dominic) Blesener of St. Louis, MO and Jay Rein of Wausau, WI; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandson; sister, Mae Rolland of St. Hilaire, MN; brother-in-law, Victor Kalinowski; many relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents; daughter-in-law, Charlette Jane Anderson; 8 brothers and 2 sisters.
