Celina Riel, 100, died on Tuesday, December 17, 2002 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2002 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN with Father John Kleinwachter officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Oklee, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Celina Hince was born on July 14, 1902 on the Family Farm in Lambert Township, Red Lake County, Minnesota, the daughter of Hermenegline and Adeline (Asselin) Hince. She was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic Faith.

In 1920 Celina was united in marriage to Albert Riel. The couple lived in Oklee. In addition to raising her own family Celina was a caregiver to many of her extended family throughout most of her life. At the age of 60 Celina began working at the Oklee Community Center in Oklee, where she worked for many years.

Celina was a great cook. She enjoyed needlework, rug making, quilt making and gardening.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN and active in St. Anns Society. Celina was very active in church and had a deep faith.

Celina is survived by two granddaughters: Lora Jean Colvard of Murfreesboro, TN and Mary Jo (Tom) Brown of Eden Prairie, MN; nine great grandchildren: Michelle, Diane, Duke, Wendy, Trasi, Chris, Kathy, Tyson and Seth; 13 great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandson; five nieces and three nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, Albert, December 15, 1961; two daughters: Bernice, July 20, 1951 and Almina Diane, February 20, 1996; grandchildren: John, September 3, 1991 and Kelly, April 5, 1974; great grandson, Robert Colvard, March 14, 1998; one sister, Marie Collette, July 15, 1994; one brother, Joseph in 1957; and sister-in-law, Emma Bachand, July 5, 1999; and her parents.
