Obituary

Charles LaCoursiere of Oklee, MN passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at his son’s home in Cotton, MN.

Funeral service for Charles will be held 10:30 AM on Saturday May 2, 2026 at Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee, MN with S.A.M. Lindi Christianson officiating. Burial will be held at Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery rural Oklee, MN.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 starting at 5:00 PM and running until 7:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee, MN and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Charles Allen LaCoursiere was born June 5, 1941 on the farm near Oklee, MN, son of the late Albert and Thora (Ramse) LaCoursiere. He attended school in Oklee, MN.

In 1964, Charles was united in marriage to Diane Hegland at Salem Lutheran Church, Oklee. The couple moved near Seattle, WA late in 1964, to a town called White Center, WA. Charles worked building bridges, while Diane worked for a wigwam store. Together they raised two sons, Rodney and Kelley. The couple returned to St Louis Park, MN for one winter and then to Crystal, MN where they lived for 29 years. The couple moved to Oklee, MN and have been busy renovating the LaCoursiere family home southeast of Oklee.

Charles was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Oklee, MN.

Charles is survived by sons, Rodney (Kelly) LaCoursiere and Kelley (Sarah) LaCoursiere; 4 grandchildren, Jack LaCoursiere, Jay LaCoursiere, Kaitlyn LaCoursiere, Charlie LaCoursiere.

Charles is preceded in death by his wife Diane in 2005.
