Charlotte Parsley, 63, died on Sunday, April 3, 2011 with her family by her side at her home after battling cancer.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, April 8, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee, MN with Rev. Margaret Jacobis officiating. Burial will follow in the Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Brooks, MN.

Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Service, Oklee, MN. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Friday.

Charlotte Ann Hinkley was born on May 27, 1947 to Harry and Josie (Wilkens) Hinkley in Crookston. She was baptized Presbyterian. She grew up on a farm southeast of Plummer, MN and graduated from Pershing High School in 1965, then attended cosmetology school in Thief River Falls. On August 19, 1967, she united in marriage to Kennneth Lowell Parsley. They made their home south of Oklee, MN for all of their married life.

Charlotte worked as a beautician in Oklee and out of her home for some time. She worked as a waitress in McIntosh at the Flapjack Caf and the bowling alley in Oklee. She did accounting and bookkeeping work for the elevators in McIntosh, Plummer, RV Sports, and her husband and sons trucking businesses. She also worked at Quicor in Thief River Falls and as a cook at MacManor in McIntosh.

Charlottes number #1 priority was her grandchildren. She never missed a school or sporting event. She waited by the phone for the details of each away game. She loved to spoil them with everything they wanted and never told them no . She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and decorating the yard. Her house and yard were immaculate.

Charlotte is survived by her husband Kenneth, Brooks, MN, three children: Karleen (Mike) Delorme, Crookston, MN, Duane (Melissa) Parsley, Plummer, MN, Scott (Dana Berberich) Parsley, Brooks, MN, five grandchildren: Sabrina & Eric Delorme, Max & Sam Parsley, Gus Bruggeman, two sisters: Merlyn (Orlis) Hanson, Thief River Falls, MN, Beverly (Dennis) Moen, Oklee, MN, mother in law Frances Parsley, Thief River Falls, MN, and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harry & Josie Hinkley, sister Doris Nelson, brother Marlo Hinkley, two nephews George Ike Westlake Jr., John Allen Fogel, and father in law Harley Parsley.
