Chester Hanson, 67, died Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at Innovis Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 22, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Plummer, MN, with Rev. Frank Ehling officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 PM on Friday at Johnson Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, MN and one hour before the services at the church on Saturday.

Chester Laverne Hanson was born March 19, 1935, to John and Jessie (Kolstrand) Hanson on the family farm in Hickory Township, Pennington. He was confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Oklee. He attended the Solberg country school and then High School in Oklee, MN.

He farmed near Plummer all of his life. He spent many winters living with his sister Alice and brother Woody.

He enjoyed playing cards especially whist. He also enjoyed visiting the casinos.

Survived by two brothers Telton (Darlyne), Minneapolis, MN; John Woody , Minneapolis, MN; one sister Alice Carlson, Minneapolis, MN; one brother in law Lloyd Pederson, 11 nieces and nephews: Pam Kile, Violet Hanson, Karen Radcliff, Richard Carlson, Linda Sauro, Dale Pederson, Dean Pederson, David Nerva, Sheila Nerva, LeRoy Hanson, Brenda Hanson.

Preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Eva Pederson, Berniece Nerva, three brothers Myles, LeRoy and Ernest.
