Chester Nessen, 62, died Saturday, November 9, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Tim Bauer officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery, Smilie Township, Pennington Co., MN.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Monday, November 11, 2002 at the Johnson Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.

Chester S. Nessen was born on January 1, 1940. He was baptized at Nazareth Lutheran Church, rural Trail, MN; and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. He attended rural country school in Hickory Township before moving into Thief River Falls, MN. He attended Lincoln High School. He served in the National Guard after school. He married Marlene Yvonne Jablinske on June 1, 1958 in Trinity Lutheran Church. He hauled milk for his father in law for several years. He worked for Hartz Foods as a truck driver for over 25 years. He retired due to health reasons in 1989.

Chet enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and family. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, fishing, and attending his grandchildrens sporting events.

Chet is survived by his wife Marlene, Thief River Falls, MN; two sons: Michael, Minneapolis, MN; Jon (Cindy), Thief River Falls, MN; four grandsons: Tyler, Parker, Tanner, and Brady; four brothers: Orlen (Kathy) Homme, Thief River Falls, MN; Alan (Linda) Homme, Thief River Falls, MN; Robert Homme, Goodridge, MN and Steve Homme, Goodridge, MN; many sister and brothers in law; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and one nephew Chad.
