Claire Ann Rae Liedberg, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on December 14, 2025, at the Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls, Minnesota surrounded by her family. Born on April 1, 1945, in Thief River Falls, Claire Ann was a lifelong resident of the area who graduated from Goodridge School in 1963.
Throughout her life, Claire Ann dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family, embodying a spirit of love and devotion. After finishing high school, she embarked on her career, starting at Ben Franklin, where she met the love of her life, Neil C. Liedberg they were united in marriage on August 16th, 1968. Over the years, Claire Ann held various jobs, but her most cherished role was being a mother and grandma. Her nurturing nature and commitment to her family were evident in the countless ways she cared for them, particularly in her later years as she devoted herself to the care of her mother.
Claire Ann was proud and dedicated to her church and her ladies' group, where her warmth and encouragement touched many lives. She was known for her ever-present smile, a reflection of her positivity and strength. Above all, Claire Ann relished talking on the phone with neighbors to help type the news column for the Times paper and enjoying Hallmark movies, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Claire Ann is survived by her loving spouse, Neil C. Liedberg, and their children: Nathan (Fran) Liedberg of Thief River Falls and Sheri Liedberg-Lallier of Thief River Falls. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Hailey (Josh) Zachman of Rio Hondo, TX; Shay Lallier (Austin) of Moorhead; Nolan Liedberg (Lea) of Middle River; and Zadin Lallier (Jacey) of Warren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Clara (Ramsey) Dahlen, as well as her grandparents James and Sophie Ramsey, John Dahlen, and Lottie Dahlen. Claire Ann also joins several cousins and other family members who have passed.
A visitation will be held in her honor on December 20, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 10:00 AM at Ekelund Lutheran Church, located at 34477 130th Street Northeast in Goodridge, MN. In a testament to her casual and warm-hearted spirit, the family invites attendees to dress in a relaxed manner to celebrate Claire Ann's life.
Claire Ann Rae Liedberg will be remembered fondly for her love, kindness, and the light she brought to those around her. Her legacy of love and family will continue to inspire all who knew her.
The family would like to thank the staff of Oakland Park and HIA Hospice for their excellent care and kindness.
