Clara Dahlen, 94, died on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Ekelund Lutheran Church, rural Goodridge, MN with Reverend Bob Dahlen officiating. Burial will be at Ekelund Cemetery, rural Goodridge, MN.

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 19, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Clara Ramsey was born on July 28, 1912 at her home at rural Goodridge, MN, the daughter of James and Sophie (Rensla) Ramsey. She had two brothers, Selmer and Palmer. Clara attended Country School through the 8th grade, near Highlanding.

Clara accompanied her brothers and her dad on the piano when they played the violin and guitar. She was united in marriage to Clarence Dahlen on June 30, 1937 at the parsonage at Goodridge. The couple had one daughter, Claire Ann. The family lived on the Dahlen Homestead until 1991, when they moved to Thief River Falls. Clara enjoyed the farm life and gardening. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, embroidering, crocheting and quilting and made most of her clothes. She took great pride in making homemade bibs and quilts for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Clara was always baking and cooking and her grandchildren loved her baked buns, morning eggs and chocolate malts.

She was a member of the Ekelund Lutheran Church, Ekelund ELCA, where she held several offices and taught Sunday school and she was also a member of the Star Homemakers Club. Clara enjoyed helping with quilting at the church with her friends and neighbors. She also embroidered on baptismal kerchiefs for the new babies that were born and baptized at the church.

Her daughter, Clarie Ann, was married on August 16, 1968 to Neil Liedberg of rural Argyle, MN, at Ekelund Lutheran Church. Neil and Clarie Ann had two children, Nathan and Sheri.

Clara is survived by her daughter, Clarie Ann (Neil) Liedberg of Thief River Falls, MN; two grandchildren, Nathan (Francine) Liedberg of Goodridge, MN and Sheri (Andrew) Lallier of Goodridge, MN; four great grandchildren: Hailey and Nolan Liedberg and Shayla and Zadin Lallier; sister-in-law: Ruby Vagle of Sauk Rapids, MN; niece, Jean Lane of St. Cloud, MN and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence on September 23, 1998 and brothers, Selmer and Palmer.
