OBITUARY FOR CLARA HANSON
PLUMMER, MN

Clara Hanson, 91, died on Monday, April 15, 2002 at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 18, 2002 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer, MN with Reverend Frank Ehling officiating. Burial will be at Emardville Cemetery, Emardville Township, Red Lake County, MN.

Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Clara Georgia Hanson was born on October 26, 1910 in Portland, North Dakota, the daughter of Ole and Johanna (Overn) Bakken. She attended school and was raised in Portland. Clara also worked at the Caf in Portland.

On Febraury 15, 1930 she was united in marriage to John L. Hanson at Hillsboro, ND. The couple moved to Plummer, where they raised their family. Clara worked at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls. John passed away on August 31, 1977. In 1991 Clara moved to the Pioneer Memorial Care Center.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Immanuel Ladies Aid, American Legion Auxiliary in Plummer and was also a member of Plummer Bowling League.

Clara was an avid bowler, enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing and visiting. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Clara is survived by her children: Wallace (Bess) Hanson of Vacaville, CA, Jeannette (Bernard) Carriere-Remick of Red Lake Falls, MN, Darlene Hanson of Bloomington, MN and Vernon (Janis) Hanson of Mentor, MN; grandchildren: Ricky Hanson, Debbie, Cindy, Neil (Jackie) Carriere, Diane (Ron) Amiot, Mary Jo (David) Mugaas, Robert (Sue) Carriere, Jeanne (Tim) Halle, Nancy Carriere, Jennifer (Bruce) Hageman, Michael (Katie) Hanson and Tina (Chad) Braun; 22 great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Johnson of New Rockford, ND; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; brothers: Olaf, Lester, Otto, Arthur, Roy, George and Alvin; sisters: Julia Bakken and Lilah Orsino; and good friend, Lem Dobson.
