Clara E. Lietzow, 88, died Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at Valley Home, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 11, 2003, at Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN, with Reverend Dennis Raymond officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 10, 2003 at Johnson Green Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Clara Emma Pfeifer was born April 8, 1914 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Phillip and Mary (Huber) Pfeifer. She was baptized and confirmed in to the Lutheran Faith and attended Haultain School.

On November 5, 1940, Clara was united in marriage to Walter E. Lietzow at Haultain, Sask., Canada. The couple farmed in Canada until 1952, when the family moved to Thief River Falls, MN and settled on a farm in Numedal Township, Pennington County. The couple farmed until her husbands death in 1966. Clara was employed by the Fountain Caf in Thief River Falls for several years.

Clara was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls. She enjoyed the Zion Quilting Circle, reading, walking and family activities. She was residing at Valley Home at the time of her death.

Clara is survived by daughters, Marian Ellingson of Minneapolis, MN, Clare (Erling) Thompson of Mesa, AZ and Lorraine (John) Seaverson, Thief River Falls, MN; sons: Ed (Sharon) Lietzow of LaCrosse, WI and Ron (Marlys) Lietzow of Sioux Falls, SD; five grandsons; one granddaughter; four great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Campbell of Saskatoon; along with several other relatives residing in Canada.

She was preceded in death by husband, Walter on April 3, 1966; her parents; one sister; 12 brothers; and one granddaughter, Kelly Ann Lietzow.
