Clara Radniecki of Thief River Falls, MN formerly of Oklee, MN age 97 died on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN with Father Chuck Huck presiding. Burial will be held at the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery near Oklee, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee, MN. Visitation will also be held from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM on Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee. Clara Irene Sundrud was born on November 15, 1915, in Hill River Township, rural Fosston, MN to Louis and Maggie (Berg) Sundrud. She was baptized and confirmed in the Vernes Lutheran Church, rural McIntosh, MN. Clara attended grade school at Ridge Lawn grade school in Hill River Township and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls in 1934, and attended the Minette Beauty School in Fargo, ND. Before her marriage, Clara operated a beauty shop in Hillsboro, ND, and later worked in a law office and as a grocery store clerk in Thief River Falls. She married John (Jack) L. Radniecki on June 6, 1940. They lived and farmed in Deer Park Township until moving to Oklee in 1972. During this period they also lived for 3 years (1953 - 1956) in a trailer park near Silver Bay, MN where Jack was working on a large construction job. After moving to Oklee Clara worked at Melby's Store for many years. Jack passed away on December 16, 1991. In the summer of 2004, Clara moved to Thief River Falls. She was an active church member and 4-H leader, enjoyed garden clubs, sewing, reading, dancing, bowling, reading with first graders in the Oklee school, and most of all, just being with her family. Clara is survived by sons Gary (Nonie), Cypress, CA and Timothy (Sandy), Erskine, MN; daughter Marcia (Rick) Lindquist, Fargo, ND; grandchildren Reggie Radniecki, Jason Radniecki, Sara (Kim) Rosendahl, Jill (Aaron) Chervestad and Paul (Elise) Lindquist; great-grandchildren Cameron and Miranda Radniecki, Hailey, Jack and Caleb Rosendahl, Owen and Alexa Chervestad, and Jude Lindquist; brother Omer Sundrud, Chaska, MN; sisters, Gladys Schoening, Olympia, WA and Peggy Althoff, Mercer Island, WA, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, grandson Ireland Radniecki, brothers and their wives Arthur (Gerda), Melvin (Vi) and George (Lois); sister-in-law Erma Sundrud; and brothers-in-law Ray Althoff and Hank Schoening.
