Clara Reierson, 94, died on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Clara Jeanette Ness was born on May 23, 1913 in Holt Township at her parents home, the daughter of Nils and Elizabeth (Ellingson) Ness, the fifth of 8 children. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Clara grew up in Excel Township, Marshall County, and attended Sagstuen Country School and Holt School.

Clara was united in marriage on August 20, 1932 to Oscar Adolph Reierson. The couple farmed in the early years of their marriage and later Clara worked in the potato fields near Argyle, the Turkey Plant, and in the garment division of Arctic Cat for many years. Clara lived on her farm until 2000. At that time moved into the Skylight apartments for three years. Since June 2, 2003 she has lived at Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

She was a lifetime member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Holt, Minnesota. She was a member of Martha Circle, the Holt Keenagers group, the VFW Auxiliary and Cooties. In 1986 Clara was honored as Outstanding Senior Citizen of Marshall County. She liked to read, embroidery, listen to old time music, play cards, and bake especially Norwegian specialties like krumkake. Most of all, spending time with family was very important to Clara.

Clara is survived by children: Vernon (Maxine) Reierson, Thief River Falls, MN, Clifford (Jeanette) Reierson, Newfolden, MN, seven grandchildren: Bruce (Barb) Reierson, Dublin, Ohio, Marty (Gloria) Reierson, Thief River Falls, MN, Clint (Cindy) Reierson, Hopewell, Virginia, Marcy (Dr. Craig) Mickelson, Thief River Falls, MN, Vance (Sheri) Reierson, Port Orange, Florida, Mark (Jody) Reierson, Newfolden, MN and Dean (Kerstin) Reierson, Roosevelt, MN and 12 great grandchildren, sister, Myrtle Silverness, New Market, MN, brothers, Clarence (Joyce) Ness, Montgomery, Alabama, Orville (Mildred) Ness, Thief River Falls, MN, sisters-in-law Gertrude (Reierson) Flaten, Arizona City, Arizona, Clara (Nelson) Reierson, Newfolden, MN, Gladys (Nelson-Reierson) Anderson, Thief River Falls, MN, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by husband, Oscar on March 4, 1978, parents, great-grandson, Luke Reierson, sisters, Alice (Ness) Ueland, Tilda (Ness) Olson, brothers, John Ness, Einar Ness, sisters-in-law: Eleanor (Hall) Ness, Esther (Reierson) Bjerken, Annie (Reierson) Bjerken, Myrtle (Reierson) Pederson, Ida (Bjerk) Reierson, brothers-in-law: Edmund Ueland, Rangvold Olson, Arnold Silverness, Peter Bjerken, Rudolph Reierson, Alfred Bjerken, Obert Reierson, Lawrence Reierson, Thomas Pederson, Ralph Flaten, and LeRoy Reierson.
