Clarence Reiman, 78, died Friday, June 23, 2006 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.
Clarence Emmett Reiman was born April 11, 1928 at Deer Creek, MN, the son of George and Viola (Mayer) Reiman. He was baptized into the Lutheran Faith, July 22, 1928 at Deer Creek, MN and confirmed July 5, 1944 at Rosholt, MN. Clarence moved as a child with his family to South Dakota, where he attended school and grew up. Clarences father died when he was 18 years old and then Clarence took over the family farm. On March 28, 1951, he entered the United States Army and served his country in the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge, March 17, 1953, he moved back to South Dakota., where he owned and operated his own business, hauling gravel and hauling over the road. After about 10 years, Clarence sold his trucks, and went to work for Harold Fraley, driving truck. He was based out of Thief River Falls, MN. In the early 1960s he moved to Texas, where he worked construction and eventually bought his own construction equipment.
In 1963, Clarence was united in marriage to Bertha Vaughn in Houston, TX. Clarence worked on the Houston Astrodome and NASA as well as many other projects in the Houston area. In 1972, Clarence bought a farm in Adger Township, Marshall County, MN, near Goodridge, MN and in 1974 he moved the family to the farm. He raised livestock on the farm right up until the time of his death. He always enjoyed his time drinking coffee at Dees Kitchen with the boys.
Clarence was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2793 and Ecklund-Holmstrom American Legion Post# 117
He is survived by 3 children: Billie Thompson, Midway, TX, George Reiman, Boston, MA and James Reiman, Thief River Falls, MN; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and good friend, Jean Reed, Austin, TX.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents.
