Clarice Stolaas of Oklee, MN passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.
Funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church rural Oklee, MN with Reverend Jonathan Dodson Officiating. Burial will be held at Ebenezer Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday 5 – 8 PM with a 7:00 Prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Clarice Marie Olson was born on February 13, 1939 at Crookston, MN daughter of Conrad and Mary (Demarais) Olson. She was raised on a farm near Crookston, attended rural school and the Agricultural School in Crookston. She worked for Piggly Wiggly in Thief River Falls, MN.
On February 23, 1957 she was united in marriage to Orlan Stolaas at Hafslo Lutheran Church rural Crookston, MN. To this union 3 children were born Gelene, Jodi and Joel. The couple made their home on the Stolaas family farm where they have continued living their entire lives. She worked side by side with Orlan milking cows, farming and raising the children.
Clarice was a very active member of the Ebenezer Lutheran church serving on the church council, teaching Sunday school and serving with the church ladies. She had a garden and always had time to do the canning, and baking sweets for the grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family and was always up for a card game. She was the glue that kept the family together during holidays and other family events. She was a member of the River Valley Homemakers group.
Clarice is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Orlan of rural Oklee, MN; children Gelene (Vincent) Lundeen of rural Oklee, MN, Jodi (Galen) Peters of Goodridge, MN and Joel (Leann) Stolaas of rural Oklee, MN; grandchildren Kelsie (Jeff) Krein, Robbie (April) Lundeen, Nathan Peters, Katie Lundeen, Christopher (Karen Hixon) Peters, Chelsey (Ryan) Sirek; great-grandchildren Alex and Jack Krein, Shyloh Peters; brother Dean (Lillian Rux) Olson; sister-in-law Beulah (Lester) Vad; along with many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Conrad and Mary; in-laws Olaf and Beatrice Stolaas; brother Marvin (Lorraine) Olson, and sister Pearl (Clifford) Delude.
