Clarus June Lokken, 69, died Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at her daughters home in Eden Prairie, MN.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 5, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Ale Tulu officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Newfolden, MN.

Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a 4:00 P.M. Prayer service on Sunday and also at the church for one hour prior to service on Monday.

Clarus June Mickelson was born on June 5, 1937 in West Fargo, ND, the daughter of Sivert and Clara (Craft) Mickelson. She was baptized on September 19, 1937 at Plummer Lutheran Church, Plummer, MN and confirmed in 1953 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Plummer, MN. June attended school in Plummer, graduating from Plummer High School in 1955. Shortly after graduation from high school June was employed by Ben Franklin in Thief River Falls, where she worked for a couple of years.

June was united in marriage to Donald W. Lokken on March 8, 1958 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden, MN. After her marriage June turned her focus to tending to her home and her family. She worked shortly in the 1980s sewing for Narverud Cleaners and doing home day care.

June had a love of nature and wildlife and truly enjoyed traveling the back roads and exploring the country, with the love of her life, Donald. They were able to visit nearly every state, including trips to Alaska and Hawaii. She was a bird lover and watcher and was known for her beautiful gardens, where she spent countless hours every spring and summer. June also enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle, with family and friends. She tried her hand at several crafts over the years, including sewing, knitting, crocheting, weaving, cross stitching, hardahger, tatting, needlepoint and quilting. She could always be found working on her current project, making beautiful heirlooms and cozy blankets for her loved ones.

June is survived by her husband, Donald, of Eden Prairie, MN, formerly of Thief River Falls, MN; two children, Dean Lokken and fianc, Christel Smart of Aurora, MN and Karla Lokken and fianc, Rich McCarthy of Eden Prairie, MN and Spooner, WI; three grandsons: Mitchell and Trenton Purdy of Eden Prairie, MN and Devin Lokken of Aurora, MN; six step grandchildren: Jade and Heather Smart and Damon Snider, Dylan, Dalton and Abby McCarthy; and one sister, Mrs. Lester (Gloria) Larson of Thief River Falls, MN.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sivert and Clara Mickelson.
