Clayton Klaven, 74, died Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.
Funeral service will be 2 PM, Saturday, December 9, 2006 at Faith Lutheran Brethren Church, Thief River Falls, MN, with Reverend George Davis officiating. Burial will be at Holt Cemetery, Holt, MN.
Visitation will be 5 " 8 PM, Friday, December 8, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, with a 7 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to the service at the church, Saturday.
Clayton Marvin Klaven was born March 30, 1932 in Gatzke, MN, the son of Olaf and Alma (Johnson) Klaven. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. Clayton attended school in Grygla.
On July 3, 1954, Clayton was united in marriage to Carol Reierson. The couple moved to the Iron Range in Minnesota and spent many years there, from 1954-1968. In 1968, they moved back to Thief River Falls, where Clayton went to work for Arctic Cat, Forsbergs and Northwest Medical Center, from which he retired.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and bingo. Most of all he loved spending time with family and grandchildren.
Clayton is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol, Thief River Falls, MN; 3 sons: Steven (Rose) Klaven, Jeffrey (Carol) Klaven and Dean (Pam) Klaven, all of Thief River Falls, MN; 2 daughters: Janice Johnson, Red Lake Falls, MN and Susan (Jim) Williams, Warroad, MN; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Bennie Klaven, Thief River Falls, MN, Gilmore (Lorraine) Klaven, East Grand Forks, MN; 3 sisters: Pearl Klaven, Thief River Falls, MN, Audrey (Wendal) Teigland, Thief River Falls, MN; Marie Bimler, East Grand Forks, MN; mother-in-law, Clara Reierson; along with several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by parents, and grandparents.
