Clayton Mack, 69, died Monday, April 18, 2011 at Sanford Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.
A Prayer Service will be 10 AM, Friday, April 22, 2011 at St. Bernards Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert officiating. Burial will be at St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery, Thief River Falls.
Visitation will be 4"7 PM, Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls with a 6 PM rosary and for one hour prior to the service at the church Friday.
Clayton James Mack was born on April 12, 1942 at St Michaels Hospital, Grand Forks, ND, the son of James and Ella (Horken) Mack. He was baptized in the Catholic Faith and confirmed at the Church of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church on May 14, 1958, Tabor, MN.
He attended Pleasant View Country School, Polk County, MN through the 8th grade and graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School, East Grand Forks, MN. He then graduated from the auto body program at the AVTI in Thief River Falls, where he met the love of his life Sharon Ma Wicklander.
Clayton and Sharon were married on June 19, 1965 at Falun Catholic Church, Falun Township, Roseau county, MN. To this union three children were born, Kim, Kelly, and Todd.
He served in the US Army from 1964 to 1966.
The couple made their home in Thief River Falls 1966 to 1971 where Clayton worked Wennberg Welding. They moved to Fergus Falls in 1971 where he worked various jobs including the Knights of Columbus Insurance. In 1975, they moved back to Thief River Falls, where he returned to work for Wennbergs. He also worked at Valley Home in Thief River Falls.
He was a member of St Bernards Catholic Church, American Legion and Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, camping at union lake with Ma, woodworking, spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Clayton is survived by his wife Sharon, Thief River Falls; Kimberly, St Peter, MN; Kelly (Skyler) Hayes, Jetmore, KS; Todd (Rhonda) Mack, Thief River Falls, MN. Grandchildren Sarah (Sean) Carstensen, Justin Rostad, Kyle and Rachel Hayes, Brandon and Alanah Mack. Twin brother Cliff (Micky), Billings, Mt, sisters Audrey (Ed) Parks, Billings, MT and Beverly (Joe) Weiler, Meridian, ID, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
