Clebert Edward Molstad was born July 30, 1922 in Chisholm, MN the son of Oliver and Lena (Riedl) Molstad. He was baptized at Chisholm, MN and confirmed at Silver Creek Lutheran Church. Bud attended country school in the Steiner area where his family had settled. His Dad died when he was 17 years old, so Bud had to stay home and work the farm and care for his family.

On November 7, 1948, Bud was united in marriage to Betty Nelson at Calvary Lutheran Church in St. Hilaire, MN. They made their home on the Molstad family farm in Steiner Township and continued farming until 1984. To this union three children were born, Earl, Linda and Rodney.

In 1964 they moved into Thief River Falls where Bud purchased the A & B Radiator Shop which he operated until 1967 when he went to work at Arctic Cat. He worked there until 1984 when Bud had a back operation and semi-retired. He drove bus for the Thief River Falls School District for many years and was caretaker for both apartment complexes where he and Betty lived.

Bud was a member of Silver Creek Lutheran Church, the Eagles Club, and Odd Fellows. He enjoyed curling, fishing, hunting and playing in a band in his earlier years and in his later years especially enjoyed playing cards.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Betty of Thief River Falls; 3 children, Earl (Catherine) Molstad of Wausau, WI, Linda (Bert) Hester of Edwardsville, IL and Rodney (Barbara Hanson) Molstad of Moorhead, MN; 5 grandchildren, Darwin, Maureen, Michelle, Jerrod, Stephanie; 3 step-grandchildren, Ann Marie, Pamela, and Heather; granddaughter-in-law, Cassandra; great grandchildren, Kaitlin, Krista, Jamie, Evan, Abbie, Corbett, Allison, Thomas, Emma, Carson, Clint, Ashton, Brandy, Dane, Cole, and Summer; brother, Larry (Sharon) Molstad of Thief River Falls; 2 sisters, Betty (George) Woolman of California and Dorothy Johnson of Warren, MN; sisters-in-law, Marlys Molstad of Grand Forks, ND and Madonna Molstad of Thief River Falls, MN; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Chad; 3 brothers, Earl, Clayton and Oliver, Jr. and sister, Mary Ann Swanson; brothers-in-law, Ralph Swanson and Kermit Johnson.

Clebert Bud Molstad died Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN at the age of 85 years and 29 days. May his memory be blessed.
