Clifford Raymond Hegge was born on December 17, 1914 in Adams, MN, the son of Klemmet and Rachel (Hippe) Hegge. The family moved to Eldred, MN when Clifford was six years old. He was baptized in Adams, MN and confirmed in Eldred, MN. He attended the Rural 1st Consolidated School in Minnesota at Eldred, MN.
Clifford worked on large farms, including Andy Drangseth Farms in Eldred, MN, Bradley Farms and Alfred Lindem Farms. He was employed at the Oklee Elevator for 25 years.
Clifford was united in marriage to Gunda Larson on June 1, 1941 at Salem Lutheran Church. Following their marriage the couple purchased a farm north of Oklee, where they have since resided.
He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and loved farming and raising cattle.
Clifford was a member of Salem Lutheran Church for over 60 years. He was also a member of Farm Bureau and Farmers Union.
Clifford is survived by wife Gunda, Oklee; seven children: Dawn (Dale) Hanson of Goodridge, MN, Loren (Tami) Hegge of Walker, MN, Susan (Dale) Spong of Grand Forks, ND, Linda (Michael) Ventura-Box of Oklee, MN, Ronald (Ellen) Hegge of Oklee, MN, Sharon (Don) Burback of White Bear Lake, MN and Gene (Dianne) Hegge of Fosston, MN; 24 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sisters: Myrtle Moen of Crookston, MN, Lorraine Davis of Kennedy, MN, Elsie (Marvin) Higgins of Shawnee, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Lorna; one grandson, Eric Ventura; brothers and sisters: Orris Hegge, Ervin Hegge, Floyd Hegge, Glenn Hegge, Angeline Stiner, Gladys Hegge and Ruth Farnquist; one niece, Marlene Ramarke; and four nephews: Donald Hegge, Arnold Moen, Myron Stinar and Alan Davis.
