Obituary

Clifford Johnson, 83, died on Monday, January 13, 2003 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 16, 2003 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Merrill Kindall officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Lake Bronson, MN.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls, MN with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service on Wednesday evening and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.

Clifford Benjamin Johnson was born on March 8, 1919 on the Family Farm in Jupiter Township, Minnesota, the son of Enoch and Alma (Jorgenson) Johnson. Clifford graduated from Lake Bronson High School and went on to become a successful Kittson County farmer. He continued farming until his retirement in 1985.

Clifford married Jennie Kozak on April 14, 1951 at Saint Louis Park, MN. He worked several winters at the Pik-Nickolet Hotel in Minneapolis in the 1950s and 1960s. Clifford enjoyed fishing and especially liked to vacation and travel with his family.

He was active in the Community Covenant Church in Lake Bronson and more recently attended the Evangelical Covenant Church in Thief River Falls.

Clifford is survived by his wife Jennie of Thief River Falls, MN; one daughter, Laura Johnson of Fergus Falls, MN; one son, Ron (Betty) Johnson of Lake Bronson, MN; daughter-in-law, Irene and granddaughters, Jessica Jean and April Rose, all of Karlstad, MN; one sister, Pearl Hottinger of LeSeuer, MN; one niece and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Cynthia; and one sister, Emeline (Ralph) Hopkins.
