Connie Jean Engen of rural Newfolden, MN passed away on Wednesday January 10, 2024 at her home near Newfolden, MN.

Funeral Service for Connie will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Stephany White officiating. Burial will be held at East Bethlehem Cemetery near Strathcona, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Connie Jean Engen was born January 3, 1962 at Greenbush, MN daughter of Curtis and Kathleen (Hahn) Haugtvedt. She was baptized at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in 1962 and confirmed there in May of 1977. She attended school in Greenbush, MN graduating in 1980. She worked various jobs in the area.

On June 18, 1983 she was united in marriage to Bradley James Engen at First Lutheran Church in Karlstad, MN. The couple lived in Warroad for a time and at Roosevelt, before returning to Newfolden in 1992. Connie worked as a CNA, was involved in Home Health Care, worked at Holiday and Digi Key.

Connie was an avid gardener, was an artist and enjoyed crafting, loved chickens and pets, she was the queen of catching sunfish. Connie was very generous by always giving to others.

Connie is survived by her husband Bradley of Newfolden, MN; mother Kathleen Viereck of Lancaster, MN; siblings Allen (Shelly) Haugtvedt of Belfield, ND, Gary Haugtvedt of Warroad, MN, Kim (Dale) Droske of New Rockford, ND; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Connie is preceded in death by her father Curtis Haugtvedt, all her grandparents, aunts and uncles; father and mother-in-law, Eldor and Pearl Engen.
