Obituary

Constance Connie Driscoll, 93, died Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Riverview Hospital, Crookston, MN.

Funeral service will be 2 PM, Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at St. Josephs Church, Red Lake Falls, MN, with Father Anthony VanderLoop presiding. Burial will be at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Cemetery, Plummer, MN.

Visitation will be 4 " 8 PM, with a 6:30 PM prayer service Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service, Red Lake Falls, MN and for one hour prior to service at the church on Wednesday.

Constance M. Driscoll was born May 3, 1912 in Fairfax, MN, to Benjamin and Barbara (Wagner) Willett and died Saturday, January 21, 2006.

Much of her life was dedicated to the service of others as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, church and community member. She belonged to various organizations including the American Legion Auxiliary (of which she served as president in 1979 and 1983), V.F.W. Auxiliary, Lioness, Eagles Auxiliary and the Friendship Club. She was a volunteer for the Blood Bank, Cancer Society, Kidney Foundation and many other civic organizations. She was awarded the Outstanding Pennington County Senior Citizen Award in 1986, the Outstanding Workmanship Award from the American Legion Auxiliary, the Outstanding Volunteers Award from Valley Home and Oakland Park Nursing Home and the County Award from the Friendship Club.

She was a devoted member of St. Bernards Parish for 28 years; a member of St. Anns Society and Catholic Daughter of America. Constance faced many challenges with energy, hard work and unfailing optimism and resiliency. She had a gift for friendship and fun. She was a talented hostess, decorator and cook. She loved dogs, flower gardening and bird watching. Her many trips to Modesto, CA, where she spent the winters with relatives and friends were always a joy to her.

She will be remembered for her warm and loving smile, her willingness to give of her talents to church, family and friends and her unquestioning and unwavering love.

Constance is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (George) VanderLoop, Elk River, MN, son, Ed (Elizabeth) Driscoll, Bemidji, MN; grandchildren: Daniel Driscoll, Mary VanderLoop, Father Anthony VanderLoop, Sarah (Joseph) Ferrari and Maria VanderLoop; great grandchildren, Jovon and JaReese; 2 sisters and one brother, Dolores Carlson, Rita LeMere and Joseph Willett.

Preceded in death by her loving husband, Daniel, granddaughter, Lisa Martin, parents, a brother, Andrew Willett and 3 sisters, Marietta Johanneck, Monica Fallon and Marcella Touluse.
