Constance Philipp, 94 of Thief River Falls, MN died peacefully on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Philip Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery, Smiley Township, Pennington County, MN.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM on Friday.

Constance Aloyse Wiley Philipp was born on January 10, 1922 in Carlin, Nevada the daughter of James M. and Lee Inez (Latham) Wiley.  She was confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Mavie, Minnesota.  She graduated from P.J. Jacob's High School on June 5, 1940 in Stephens Point, Wisconsin.

Following high school she worked clerical and telegraph for the railroad.

On May 15, 1947, Connie was united in marriage to James V. Philipp at St. John Lutheran church in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.  They farmed their entire lives in Grand Plain Township where together they built their house.  She enjoyed taking care of James, gardening, canning, watching the wildlife, life on the farm, and together they enjoyed attending services at Bethany Lutheran Church.

James died on February 12, 2002 and Connie continued to live on the farm until moving to Valley Home in Thief River Falls on July 23, 2007.

Survivors include sisters-in-law, Yvonne Philipp and Harriet Philipp both of Thief River Falls; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James; parents; and brother, Kermit.

Memorials are suggested to Bethany Lutheran Church.
