He was born and raised in to the catholic faith. Dale attended St. Joseph's Catholic School and then later Lafayette High School. In 1979 he went to Northland Technical College, Thief River Falls, MN and received his welding degree, then to Northwest Technical College in East Grand Forks, MN for his CDL license in 1984. After receiving his CDL license Dale's life on the road began. He traveled across the U.S. and enjoyed the scenic view and sites. While Dale was trucking he was hit by a train between the cab and trailer of his semi-truck on US 10 by Big Lake and Monticello. After recovering from his injuries, Dale started his own trucking business called Whiskey Creek Transportation hauling whiskey from Tennessee across the U.S. With the cost of fuel increasing Dale sold out in 1995. He purchased a new home in Crookston and began a new journey in his life, being able to come home every night when he went to work for Porta Mix Concrete. Dale loved to travel, fish and boat down the river. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a great gardener and enjoyed planting seeds and watching them grow and then sharing them with his friends. Dale is survived by two sisters; Bonnie J. (Gary) Pahlen, Gloria Peterson, and one brother, Allen (Cindy) DuCharme all of Red Lake Falls, 9 nephews and nieces and 23 great nephews and nieces.
