Dale Lappegaard Sauk Rapids, MN age 56, died following a massive heart attack at his father-in-law's home in Goodridge, MN on Saturday, February 22, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Robert Dahlen officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Dale Roger Lappegaard was born on September 28, 1957 in Thief River Falls, MN the eighth of nine children born to DeWein and Alice (Olson) Lappegaard. He attended schools in the St. Cloud, MN area and graduated in 1976 from St. Cloud Tech High School. Following high school, Dale moved to Goodridge, MN where he met the love of his life, Jody Wiseth. The couple married on July 30, 1977 at Faith Lutheran Church and they were the first to be married in the new church. To this union three children were born, Alison, Roger and Matthew. They lived in Goodridge for a short time where Dale worked for his brother-in-law, Charlie Kiesow on his farm. In the spring of 1978 they made their home in Sauk Rapids, MN where they have continued to reside. Dale worked as a custodial engineer for the St. Cloud School District until 2005 and currently was working for Marsden Building Maintenance. Dale was a kind, caring, happy, selfless, loving family man. He dearly loved his wife, Jody, his children, grandsons, his grand dog, and all the rest of his family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, lighting the fire when camping, fishing, tinkering on his cars, going to the casino, joking with his grandkids, nieces and nephews, and always enjoyed a 20 ounce Pepsi. Dale could handle any plumbing or electrical projectsbut wasn't so good with woodworking. He would be right there for any family or friends who needed help. Survivors include his loving wife, Jody of Sauk Rapids, MN; children, Alison (Mason) Mannie of Fargo, ND, Roger (special friend, Julie Ross and her daughter, Breanna) Lappegaard of Pierz, MN, and Matthew Lappegaard of Fargo, ND; grandsons, Tyler and Cameron Lappegaard and their mother, AmyLea; of St. Cloud, MN; father, DeWein Lappegaard of Goodridge, MN; sisters, Louann (Charlie) Kiesow of Goodridge, MN, Arlene Bjerke of Thief River Falls, MN, Mona (David) Burczyk of St. Cloud, MN, Darla (Larry) Schermer of Maple Lake, MN; half-sisters, Marcie (Wayne) Fairbanks and Samantha Lappegaard; half-brother, Duane Lappegaard; sister-in-law, Christy Lappegaard; father-in-law, Lloyd "Lars" Wiseth; brother-in-law, Bryan Wiseth; sisters-in-law, Trudy (Aldon) Hyland; Sandy Wiseth; "brother-unlawful", Bud Fontes; grand dog, Kingslie; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
