Danny C. Bragg, 74, of Grygla, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on September 14, 2024. He was born in 1950 in Decatur, Indiana, to Carl and Mary Bragg. In 1970, Danny married the love of his life, Sandra (McLean), in Grygla, Minnesota and they spent 54 wonderful years together.
Danny dedicated much of his life to his country, serving as an airplane mechanic in the United States Air Force. He was on active duty from 1971 to 1975, and following his military service, he worked as a civil servant at Grand Forks Air Force Base for 25 years, specializing in repairing Peacekeepers and other military vehicles. In addition to his work at the Air Force Base, Danny also had a successful career with Northwest Airlines. He was a proud member of the American Legion and served as the president of the Grygla Lions Club, where he was actively involved in his community.
Danny was an avid fisherman, spending many cherished days casting lines at Lake of the Woods. An avid card shark, he loved playing cards with family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting and could often be found tinkering with small engines. In addition to his mechanical talents, Danny had a deep love of music and was an active member of the choir at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla, where his voice brought joy and comfort to the congregation.
Danny was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Mary Bragg; his brother Randy Bragg; his niece Jennifer Bragg; and his nephew Keith Bugge.
He is survived by his loving wife Sandra Bragg, Grygla, MN; daughter Jennifer Brown, Grand Forks, ND; son Paul (Holly) Bragg, Wilmington, DE; grandchildren: Kassandra (Cole), Brandon (Javier), Keegan, Emmeline, and Macy; great-grandchildren: Millie and Dax; sister, Candace (Jack) Bugge; and many other relatives and friends.
The family extends special thanks to The Hospice of the Red River Valley for their compassionate care during Danny's final days.
The service to celebrate Danny's life will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 20, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla, MN with Rev. Marilyn Grafstrom officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at St. Olaf Cemetery near Grygla. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force Honor Guard, VFW Post 2793 and Grygla American Legion Post 162.
