Darlene J. Lowell, 66, died February 1, 2006 at Northwest Medical Center, CNC Unit, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 4, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN, with Pastor Irvin Schmitke officiating.

Visitation will be 5 " 8 PM, Friday, February 3, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, with a 7 PM prayer service and also for one hour prior to the service, Saturday.

Darlene Jean Iverson was born May 26, 1939 at Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Anton and Lillian (Mills) Iverson. She was baptized into the Lutheran Faith and confirmed into the Catholic Faith. She attended North High School in Minneapolis.

In 1956, Darlene was united in marriage to George Bydlon. To this union 4 daughters were born, Vinette, Lynette, Annette and Janette. On February 14, 1976, Darlene married Fred Lowell in Sioux Falls, SD, the father of 4 children, Tony, Freddie, Penny and Candy. To Darlene and Freds union, Shaun and Kathleen were born.

Darlene was employed at Durkee-Atwood, Minneapolis, MN, the Jewish Community Center, Minneapolis, MN, Unity Hospital, Fridley, MN and Freds Place in Thief River Falls. In 1977, the family moved to Plummer, MN and in 1993, they moved to Thief River Falls, where they have continued to live.

The number one priority in Darlenes life was her family. Her 10 children were her pride and joy. She enjoyed raising children and loved animals. Darlene and Fred also loved spending time with the family on their lake property on Little Mantrap Lake. She loved to crochet, quilt and was talented in crafting as well as gardening. She always had hugs and kisses for everyone.

Darlene is survived by husband, Fred, Thief River Falls, MN; 10 children, Anthony (Lisa) Lowell, Thief River Falls, MN, Vinette (John) Menshek, Princeton, MN, Lynette (fianc, Dave Lohse) Lloyd, Maple Grove, MN, Penny (special friend, Mark), Isanti, MN, Freddie (Mona) Lowell, Waverly, MN, Candy (special friend, Dave Rybeck) Erickson, Sturgeon Lake, MN, Annette (Brian) Bruggeman, Thief River Falls, MN, Janette (Tom) Braaten, Plummer, MN, Shaun (Michelle) Lowell, Oklee, MN and Kathleen (fianc, Josh Tronnes), Crookston, MN; 38 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; nephew, Richard (Reba) Thomas and niece, Barbara (Jerry) Roby. Both niece and nephew were raised by Darlene after the death of their mother; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by grandsons, Louie and Nickey; parents; 3 sisters, Charolette, Mildred and Dorothy.
