Darrell Johnson, 65, of Thief River Falls, MN died on Thursday, April 06, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, MN.

Darrell Allen Johnson was born on April 19, 1940 at the family home in Viking, MN the son of Selmer and Ethel (Hansen) Johnson. As a young man, Darrell attended church and school in Newfolden, MN and following school worked as a farm laborer.

On June 29, 1962, Darrell was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Holmstrom in Newfolden, MN. The couple has made Thief River Falls their home throughout their years together.

Darrell went to work for 22 years for Forsbergs in Thief River Falls and also worked for the City of Thief River Falls Sanitation Department and the Street Department for many years.

Darrell was a gun collector and enjoyed hunting deer with his family. He also enjoyed auction sales, flea markets, rummage sales, watching TV, reading, and he loved to eat. He is a former member of the Sportsmans Club and Eagles Club in Thief River Falls.

Survivors include his wife Shirley; one brother, Marvin (June) Johnson; brother-in-law, Ron Holmstrom; mother-in-law, Gladys Holmstrom all of Thief River Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lois.
