Darryl Olson of Thief River Falls, age 47 died Tuesday July 16, 2013 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Graveside services will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Robert Dahlen officiating. Darryl Craig Olson was born on September 18, 1965 in Cudahy, WI the son of Norman and Dolores (Wynne) Olson. He was the first baby baptized at the new St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cudahy, WI. When Darryl was five years old, he moved with his family to Thief River Falls. Darryl attended Mark Twain Elementary, Franklin Middle School and Lincoln High Schools in Thief River Falls, MN. Darryl worked at several jobs over the years including Northern Pride, Service Master, and roofing. He enjoyed cooking, riding motorcycle, listening to the trading post, watching Diners, Drive-ins & Dives, going to concerts especially Ozzy Osbourne, and spending time with his family and friends. Darryl also enjoyed his dogs Bandit and Pugsly. He was known to be stubborn, ornery, and bullheaded one minute and then your best friend the next minute. Survivors include siblings, Kenny Olson, Norman (Cheryl) Olson, Jr., Steve Olson, Jeff Olson all of Thief River Falls, MN, Patty (Rodney) Carlson of Grygla, MN, Sandra Nelson of Thief River Falls, MN and Debra (Glen) Limesand of Goodridge, MN; many nieces and nephews; and best friend, Lisa Altendorf of Thief River Falls, MN. Darryl is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cindy Zinter; niece in infancy, Jackie, and brother-in-law, Elmer Nelson.
