Darryle LaPlante died Thursday, June 30, 2005 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND



Darryle Joseph LaPlante was born on November 28, 1939 in Crookston, MN the son of Maurice and Martha (Swanson) LaPlante. He was baptized and confirmed in the catholic faith and attended St Joseph's Catholic School and Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls. He attended college at the University of North Dakota and graduated from the University of Minnesota. After graduating from the university he was employed by the Internal Revenue Service in Minneapolis. In 1967 he moved to Torremolinos Spain and made his home there for the next 38 years until his death.
He is survived by one brother, James LaPlante of Gulfport, FL; aunt, Loretta Prenevost of Red Lake Falls; uncle, Stanley (Ruby) Swanson of Karlstad, MN; aunt, Velina Grandbois of Red Lake Falls, Merle (William) Bergerson of Forest Lake, MN, and Mary LaPlante of Baton Rouge, LA; and several cousins. His spanish family includes; Jose Antonio (Pepe) Campo Corbacho, Emily Holst Weber, Shelley Thompson, Maria Carmen Rodrige, Cesar Candevila Barba, Antonio Rio, and Manuel Garson.
Darryle was preceded in death by his parents; father, Maurice on April 24, 1996; mother, Martha on November 27, 2004; aunts, Norma LaPlante, Alma (Roy) Sjodin, Myrtle (Harry) Froberg, Gladys (William) Sather, Lily (Roy) Ellis and Pearl (Michael) Velesquez; uncles, Willard LaPlante, Ray LaPlante, Harvey Grandbois, and Neil Prenevost.
The Memorial Service will be held along the beautiful shores of the Mediterranean in his beloved Torremolinos.
