David Alberg, 54, died at his home in Thief River Falls, MN on Monday, May 10, 2010.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Ale Tulu officiating. Burial will be at the Bethany Swedish Cemetery, Badger, MN.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday.

David Scott Alberg was born on January 19, 1956 to Stanley Kenneth and Theresa Evelyn (Hammer) Alberg in Roseau, MN. He grew up south of Fox on a farm. He attended school in Roseau and graduated from High School in 1974.

He enlisted in the US Marines and was stationed in California for most of his time. He served his country for two years. After returning home from the service, Dave worked as the store manager at Cenex in Roseau for a few years. He then worked construction and cement work in Roseau for many years. For the past seven years, he has worked at Digi-Key in Thief River Falls.

Dave was an avid reader. He was intelligent and could easily do math in his head. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He has looked over his mother Theresa for the past many years, making sure she was ok. He had a fondness for his nieces and nephews and loved to interact and spend time with them.

He is survived by his mother, Theresa, Thief River Falls, MN, 2 brothers Myles (Kathy) Alberg, Thief River Falls, MN, Ron (Mary) Alberg, Holt, MN, 2 sisters: Debbie (Bert) Erickson, Roseau, MN, Kim Berg, Moorhead, MN, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Stanley, brother Chad Alberg, and brother in law Curtis Berg.
