Obituary

David Farbo, 91, died Thursday, August 9, 2007 at his residence in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Monday, August 13, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN with June Young officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be 4 " 7 PM, Sunday, August 12, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.

David Stanley Farbo was born June 30, 1916 in Caribou, MN, the son of Iver Nicholai and Augusta Pauline (Mehus) Farbo. He attended country school and grew to manhood in Caribou.

On December 31, 1944, David was united in marriage to Vivian Lucille Martinson. As a young man, David worked at a paper mill in Longview, WA, then as a mechanic for his brother-in-law in the twin cities. He came back to Cariou and farmed with his father on the Family Farm. In 1951 David and his family moved to Karlstad, MN, where he farmed for over 20 years. In 1973 they moved to Thief River Falls, where they have since made their home. After moving to Thief River Falls David worked for Brodin Sheet Metal for 5 years and he also worked for a short time for Tom Price. He farmed for many area farmers, then for himself for the next 30 years.

David served on the Deerwood Township board for many years. He loved fishing, hunting, playing card games, harmonica, gardening and picking wild berries. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by wife, Vivian, Thief River Falls, MN; children, Connie (Jim) Englund, Karlstad, MN, Curtiss (Barbara) Farbo, Thief River Falls, MN and Candy (Don) Kroll, Argyle, MN; grandchildren, Jamie (Kim) Englund, Christi (Dennis) Tweet, Cari (John) Vukmanich and Robby (Jill) Farbo; great grandchildren, Cody Englund, Ty Englund, Kylie Englund, Dalton Tweet, Emma Vukmanich and Kale Farbo.

David was preceded in death by a son, Paul Farbo, parents, brothers, Allen, Alvin and Richard Farbo and sisters, Gertrude Jarnes, Ruth Johnson and Judith Norum.
