David A. Naplin, 60 of North Street, MI, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2004 in William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, from injuries suffered in a tractor-automobile accident Monday evening. He was born to Edgar and Margaret Naplin, July 11, 1944 in Albert Lea, MN, attended school in Thief River Falls, MN, and graduated from Lincoln High School, Thief River Falls in 1962.
In 1966, David graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in industrial arts. He began teaching in Port Huron Area School District in 1967 and was at Port Huron High School for four years before moving to Chippewa Middle School where he taught until his retirement in 1996. On June 23, 1973, he married Pamela A. Brown in Port Huron.
David was also a full-time farmer in North Street and enjoyed fixing up and repairing farm equipment. He was always available to help his neighbors. He was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, enjoyed woodworking, and was a member of Michigan Farm Bureau, AARP, and Model A Restorers Club. When younger, David liked to travel and go camping, and he loved to visit the Pointe Edward Casino.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Pamela A. Naplin; his three sons, Eric D. and Lee A. Naplin, both of Kalamazoo, and Mark E. Naplin, North Street; his three brothers, Charles (Sharon) Naplin, Thief River Falls, MN, Robin (Linda) Naplin, Park Rapids, MN, and Mark Naplin, Cohasset, MN; and his niece & three nephews, Kristin, Bradley, Brian, & Scott Naplin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister-in-law, Mabel Naplin, and his uncle, Everett Naplin.
