Obituary

Delewoyn Del Hinden, 76, of Thief River Falls, MN, died Monday, May 11, 2009 at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, May 15, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Pastor Bob Dahlen offciating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 P.M. on Thusday, May 14, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Lanstad Cemetery, rural Thief River Falls, MN.

Delewoyn Hinden was born near Thief River Falls on February 10, 1933 to Albert and Agnes (Olson) Hinden. He attended Daisey Dale country school and then went to work on the family farm. He enlisted in the Navy and served his country honorably during the Korean War. After returning to Thief River Falls he was united in marriage to Delvina Wangen. Del worked for Forsbergs as a machinist for several years before the couple moved to Cedarburg, WI. While in Wisconsin Del worked for Est Incorporated. The couple moved back to Thief River Falls and Del went to work for Arctic Cat until his retirement.

Del enjoyed spending time outdoors and working with his hands. He was fond of the familys annual deer hunt and took many Sunday drives looking at the area fields. Del loved his family, his kids and grandkids were always a priority. He always enjoyed a cup of coffee and a good conversation.

Del is survived by his children Wayne Hippy Hinden of Thief River Falls, MN, Rhonda (Barry) Martinsen; grandchildren, Shawn (Nickie) Martinsen, Kelly Stenvik, Jesse Hinden, and Joshua Hinden all of Thief River Falls, MN; great-grandchildren, Jaden, Cassidy, Zackary, Jarek, Avery, Nathan, and Josie; brother Roger (Lou) Hinden of Thief River Falls and Elaine Thompson of New Rockford, ND.

He is preceded in death by his wife Delvina; sons, Robert Roy and Mitchell; granddaughter Amber Dawn; parents Albert and Agnes; brothers, Helmer, Harold, and Charles; and sister Margaret.
