Dellas Felling, 79, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Oakland Park Communities, Thief River Falls, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 27, 2009 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Brooks, MN.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday.
Theresa Dellas Robidoux was born August 7, 1929 to Peter and Deliose (Payment) Robidoux in Brooks, MN on the family farm. She grew up in Brooks and graduated from high school at St. Joseph Academy in Crookston, MN in 1946.
She met her future husband at a cousins wedding while she was the maid of honor and Luverne was the best man. They kept in contact through letters, while Luverne was in the Army. Eventually she traveled to Fort Riley, Kansas and she was united in marriage to Luverne B. Felling on August 16, 1950.
Luverne was a career military man and along with Dellas raised their family in several places around the world including Japan, Iran, Okinawa, and many places state side. She was a devoted wife and followed him everywhere with the family.
After Luverne retired from the military, the family settled on Dellas family farm in Brooks, MN in 1969. Dellas was the treasurer and manager of the Brooks Credit Union for almost 20 years. She worked at Arctic Cat on the assembly line in the 1980s. She was active on their small farm and raised sheep.
Dellas family was the utmost important to her. She also loved to crochet, including afgans, baby quilts, doilies, and bedspreads. Even after her vision failed she continued to crochet. She never looked at anything and said I cant do this , she said How am I going to do this. She was a carpenter, seamstress, farmer, and loving mother and wife. She was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She moved to Thief River Falls in 2003. That is where she was befriended by many wonderful people. This group of friends kept active in dancing, and many other activities. She was a devoted Catholic and currently a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls.
Survivors include one son Ken Felling, Dallas, TX, three daughters, Delyne Felling, Plummer, MN, Cheryl (Don) Scott, St. Hilaire, Kim (David) Panozzo, Scottsdale, AZ, 10 grandchildren: Ivan (Cheryl) Hirst, New Rockford, ND, Shayne (Jodi) Waldal, Union Grove, WI, Scott (Heather) Waldal, Union Grove, WI, Nicholas (Annie) Waldal, Crookston, MN, Delanie (Bob) Merrill, Middle River, MN, Heath (special friend Sarah) Rosten, Linden Hurst, IL, Courtney Panozzo, Nicole Panozzo, Scottsdale, AZ, Tracy (Mike) Bridges, Las Vegas, NV, Nathan (Dara) Scott, Grand Forks, ND, 14 great grandchildren, Jack, Ryan, Carlee, Austin, Jackson, Avah, Lincoln, Brooklyn, Brady, Jacob, Alexia, Megan, Victoria, Olivia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2002, one brother Stephen at birth, brother Lloyd Robidoux and wife Inez.
