Delores Irene Johnsrud, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at McIntosh Senior Living at McIntosh, Minnesota.

Per Delores's wishes there will be a private family service at a later date with burial at Ekelund Church Cemetery.

Delores Irene McEnelly was born on November 2, 1933, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Roy Albert and Edna Irene (Halvorson) McEnelly and was raised on a farm in Reiner Township, Pennington County, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended country school and Goodridge Hight School, graduating with the Class of 1952.

Delores was united in marriage to Robert Johnsrud on June 11, 1952, at the Parsonage in Goodridge, Minnesota, by Pastor Bjorgan. They lived in Chisholm, Minnesota, for a short time when Bobby worked in the Iron Mines before returning in 1954 to Star Township, rural Goodridge, Minnesota where they ran dairy and beef cattle and raised small grain. Delores continued to reside on the farm until May 2022 when she moved to McIntosh Senior Living.

She loved to take care of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a great cook, an avid reader and worked crossword puzzles. Delores lived a quiet country life.

Survived by children Jim (Kim) Johnsrud, Goodridge, MN and Kathy (Ed) Sabol, Thief River Falls, MN; daughter-in-law Fern Johnsrud, Goodridge, MN. Grandchildren: Crystelle (Brent) Philipp, Andrea (Javen) Eidsmoe, Kjell (Brandy) Johnsrud, Brad (Roz) Johnsrud, Clif (Jena) Johnsrud, Jared Haugen, Jeremy (Bonnie) Haugen, Tricia Bren, Carissa (Mike) Aafeldt, Troy (Nanette) Austad, Kellie Austad and Kari Wilde. Great grandchildren: Elliot, Norah, Sophia, Thomas, Katelynn, Brooks, Bailey, Jordynn, Donny, Jennings, Carter Lee, Cash, Harrison, Sam, Caroline, Landon, Emily, Ivan, Olivia, Axel, Addison, Lucas; sister Sharon (Tim) Smith, Ramsey, Minnesota, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, Roy and Edna McEnelly, spouse, Robert Johnsrud, daughter Vicki (Lyle) Austad, son, Gerald "Knute" Johnsrud, sisters Marlys (George) Parker, Colleen (Mayer) Holen, grandson, Rory Austad, niece, Deborah (Tom) Derouin, grandparents and cousins.
